STRIKING PHASE 1 FUNDAMENTAL MECHANICS
This program is designed around a force continuum, so the civilian, law enforcement, or protection agent can escalate and deescalate their level of force depending on the threat in front of them.
In today's society, what we use in an aggressive exchange must be visually appropriate and socially acceptable because our actions could be captured on a cell phone or a video, and we will need to explain them later.
The techniques chosen for the program fall into these requirements. Additionally, the methodology considers that we will carry concealed weaponry, whether a firearm or a bladed weapon. We understand that your weapon systems must fit seamlessly into your defensive tactics options.
FUNDAMENTALS:
-
Verbal exchange
-
Posturing
-
Critical distance
-
Pre-attack indicators
-
Assault levels
-
Tactics
-
Techniques of defense/offense
-
If the exchange elevates to a lethal force level, the tactics allow you to seamlessly elevate from an empty hand option into your weapon system.
FIREARM PHASE 1 DISARMING
One of the most significant failings of the defensive tactic community is teaching disarming "techniques." Doing this only prepares the student for spastic scenarios and will also build false confidence in the student, as these techniques are not generally successful when tested in reality.
Because of this, we approach this subject by teaching the rudimentary skillsets and attributes needed to achieve a high level of success in this situation. If you don't polish and develop these fundamental skills first, no technique will be successful.
Once we go through the core set of skills and the drills that will assist your development and maintain them, we will move into various scenarios we could encounter outside the classroom.
Once the student has a grasp of the fundamentals, we will look at applying them to training scenarios of different levels of force, from the verbal exchange to the assault level exchange and up to the lethal encounter, where you will have to apply the information learned.
